FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
- Do you accept my insurance?
We accept most major dental insurance plans, including Delta Dental, Cigna, Aetna, MetLife, Guardian, and many others. Our front desk team will verify your benefits before your visit so you know exactly what to expect. We also offer a simple in-house membership plan for patients without insurance.
- How often should I visit the dentist?
For most patients, we recommend a cleaning and exam every six months. This lets us catch small issues before they become big problems. Some patients with gum disease or other conditions may benefit from more frequent visits — we'll let you know if that applies to you.
- What should I do in a dental emergency?
Call us right away at (512) 555-3200. We reserve time each day for same-day emergency visits. If a tooth is knocked out, keep it moist (in milk or saliva) and get to us within 30 minutes if possible. For after-hours emergencies, our voicemail will connect you with our on-call dentist.
- Do you offer sedation for anxious patients?
Yes. We offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for mild anxiety and oral sedation for patients who need a deeper level of relaxation. Dr. Reyes and Dr. Santos are both trained in sedation dentistry, and we'll talk through your options before any procedure.
- At what age should my child first visit the dentist?
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends a first visit by age one or within six months of the first tooth appearing. Our team is experienced with toddlers and young children — we keep it fun, gentle, and pressure-free.
- How long does teeth whitening take?
Our in-office whitening takes about one hour and delivers results you'll see immediately — typically 4 to 8 shades brighter. We also offer take-home kits with custom-fitted trays if you prefer to whiten gradually over a week or two.
- What is Invisalign and how does it work?
Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners to gradually straighten your teeth. You wear each set for about two weeks, then switch to the next. Most treatments take 6 to 18 months. The aligners are nearly invisible, and you can remove them to eat, brush, and floss normally.
